- Pretty close on the mark there, NT is a continuation of the O/S 2 development,
- but NT is based on a completly new and different kernel than O/S 2. It was
- originally (When IBM and MS were on speaking terms) designated O/S 3. Its base
- architecture is a lot closer that of a mainframe OS such as VMS or UNIX than
- DOS or O/S 2.
- As Dave Cutler (The guy who wrote VMS & the NT kernel) once said "What 3
- letters come after VMS?"
